Austin Bender was hired at The Bouma Corporation in 1991 as a laborer for the East Bank Waterfront Tower project. After a few years in this role, he went to apprenticeship school and became a carpenter. He has been working as a project manager at Bouma since 2003. During his tenure, he has managed a variety of jobs in all sectors and all sizes including the $20,000,000 Helen DeVos Children’s hospital project.

Austin is certified in CPR/First Aid and holds 10 and 30-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certifications. He is also has training from the Project Management Institute.
